Revés Distillery was founded in 2018 by Hans Backhoff, CEO of Monte Xanic, and Yocelyn Biancamano, an organic agriculture consultant. This young project has a strong following, having reached the shelves of various retail chains in less than three years, since January 2021.

Revés has 3 labels, the current review is of the Red Label, the brand's flagship whiskey according to the description has: "aged for 3 years in new American oak barrels, then aged for 6 months in a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels from Valle de Guadalupe and Tawny port barrels from Northern California."

The recipe for this expression is 75% corn, 24% rye, and 1% malted barley.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Varnish, baked corn, vanilla, some prune
Mouth: Ketone, and slight astringency, leather and tannin sensation
Aftertaste: Sweet, even chocolatey, but a herbal note remains

Revés is a very young distillery that surprises with a balanced whisky. Personally, I expected dissonant notes or peaks that wouldn't break the experience, but the product reflects exceptional care and expertise in its production for such a young distillery.
